book critique article

The main purpose of this article consists in giving you a specific guideline in order to help you in writing a book critique. The current guideline is divided into five steps. Consequently, you should follow these steps to write a good academic paper.

  • The first step of writing a book critique is to examine the purpose of the paper. It should contain evaluation of the work of literature and your personal claim.

You should make your book critique bright and interesting. Thereby, you should choose a book for discussion.

  • The second step of writing a book critique consists in choosing the book. Before you choose an appropriate book, you should think about the topic. What do you want to discuss?

The topic of the book is extremely important for discussion.

  • The third step of writing a book critique presents the content of the paper.

You should not spend all time on summarizing the content of the book. You can give a brief summary, name the author (tell about him/her, tell about his/her other works), give evaluation.

  • The fourth step of the book critique writing concerns the structure which is common for all academic papers of this kind (introductory part, body, and conclusion).

The introductory part of the book critique should present the book and state your personal opinion. Give a brief summary of the book under discussion. The analysis evaluates the book, discusses its pros and cons, and states your opinion. The conclusive part of the book critique should give the final summary of the discussion.

  • The fifth step of the book critique writing concerns the format of the paper. Follow the requirements of the instructor; do not be afraid to ask for clarification.

These guidelines are common for all academic papers.
